Impossible

You cry for hours, sometimes never stopping.
Smiles are distant,
And you look past me as if I’m not there.

You smell like rotten eggs and spoiled milk,
And vomit all over the front of my shirt,
Just after I’ve taken a shower.

You constantly beg me for food and new clothes.
You scream when I’ve just fallen asleep,
Then drift into a peaceful slumber.

You utter undecipherable sounds instead of speaking,
Refuse to share your feelings,
And throw your stuff at me when you’re angry.

You left a bruise,
Where you slammed your head into mine,
And didn’t even apologize.

You take everything I give you and still want more,
Draining every ounce of energy from my body,
But it’s impossible not to love you.
