Mediocre

Look at you, then look at me,

You see the difference easily?

I’m Medusa, but you’re Adonis,

It’d be blasphemy to have your kiss.

I’m a nerd, and you’re a rock star,

You’re tens of millions of miles afar.

Nay, you’re a god, deliciously pure,

Beckoned only by another divine “her”,

Which I am not, I’m sad to say,

And I’ll only be let down in this way.

Disappointment fills my brain,

Unfulfilment makes me insane.

I find it cruel to look at you,

And to hear everything you do.

It only cuts deeper into my chest,

The silly thoughts will not rest.

I do not belong in your bed,

We’ll only be together in my head.

Worst, you don’t give a damn,

Thanks for showing how mediocre I am.
