EPILOGUE

My Gray, aka. Matt, didn't know me from Delbrook. In fact, he didn't know about Delbrook at all. However, he did say that I looked familiar. Besides all of that, there was no mistake that he felt the same draw to me as I felt to him. He brought it up once, and the only answer I could offer was, maybe we'd met in a dream or something.

Matt is so different, yet so much the same as the Gray I had fallen in love with in Delbrook. I supposed that because Matt didn't have the responsibility of protecting his family, helped him loosen up more in the real world. He doesn't have a sister. But I am more than certain that Andrea is walking around New York somewhere.

No matter how many ways I try to figure it out, I can't explain how my time in Delbrook happened, or how the characters ended up being people in real life.

There were so many questions left unanswered. Just like what happened to Mary while I was in the book. There was no sign that anyone had been in my house, so we couldn't have switched places, as I've read in some books. Then again, we didn't find her in the woods. My theory was that she remained in the black limbo until I kissed Gray. For a while, I felt bad for the girl, but she had Derek again, and I had Gray.

It had also crossed my mind that perhaps Mary was really Maggie in the real world, but I guess I will never know because I never met the girl.

Ever since that night we meet at Barry's, Matt and I have been going out every night. I supposed I lied when I told Maggie I didn't have time for a boyfriend, because it is so easy to make time for him.

He grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the way of a group of people crossing the street. I smiled to myself, certain that he had grabbed my hand for more than just that reason. Our relationship was moving slow, and I was ok with that. We had all the time in the world to get to know each other. And this time we didn't have a war or Demetrie pressing at our heels.

I was taking him to meet my Grandmother for the first time, something that I was nervous about, but he seemed perfectly at ease with the thought. She was the only one I considered my family out here, so in a way it was as if I was taking him home to meet my parents.

He looked down at me, squeezing my hand encouragingly. "Don't worry so much. She'll love me," He said, smiling cheekily.

I rolled my eyes at him, catching the glint of the sun off a display in a store window. My curiosity got the best of me, that and the hairs on my arm were standing on end. I stepped toward the window, dragging Matt along with me. It was a jewelry display.

My heart picked up its pace as my eyes scanned the pieces quickly. There it was, in the corner of the display. The sun was reflecting into the crystal necklace, casting tiny rainbows all around it. My eyes grew wide. It's real!

Matt leaned in, following my eyes to the necklace. "That's nice. Do you like it?"

I nodded, my eyes never leaving the necklace.

With a soft laugh, he tugged me away from the window. "Well, now I know what to get you for your birthday," he said with a smile.

I ripped my eyes away from the display and threaded my arm through his. Maybe there is such a thing as "Happily ever after"… As I glanced up at Matt, I knew that the storybooks had it right this time. And what a story this was turning out to be.

AN: Alright. I've already got another story in the works. However, I would really appreciate if you guys would read Comforting Darkness. It was actually the first story I published on this site. Haha Haven't had much feed back. If you could, that'd be great! If not, then hopefully I'll have the new story up and running within a few weeks. Thanks for reading this.
Much Love-
