The words will be said, and all outward actions done
Does it not work for every other?
Though they but dimly perceive, to Thee all is known.
Arguments as lazy as the faithlessness they own
How well-made for any other
Who might but barely perceive that which Thou hast always known.
To Thee always do I run
For Thy embrace is closer than any other's
Yet the empty words are said, and the actions left undone.
Only let my heart bleed gently anon
And my will given Thee like a child to its Mother's
Let there be some small mercy, though every insincerity be known.
