“Picture a world where sanity and reality both were completely non-existent. It was a darker place. The depths of hell have terrified me, even to this day—and I wish it was fake. I wish it never happened, but it did.”
…
Jamie sailed through each thought and recurring memory seamlessly. The piercing blow from Alia's Devil Bullet had completely scattered her mind—separating it from her soul. The most she could feel now was pain. Nothing was making sense at this point.
“I don't wanna die, Rene!” Jamie cried out. She was still inside purgatory—the halfway between being dead and going to the afterlife.
“Jamie!” a voice cried out. She didn't know who it was. It sounded almost like Alia, but she wasn't too sure. On instinct, she lifted her arms up and paced forwards through the empty hallway.
“Rene, where are you? Angie, can you help me? Lulu, I need you now more than ever. Somebody,” Jamie muttered. She continued to walk until she noticed a door. “just help me.”
…
Alia rubbed Jamie's forehead. She brushed her curly hair aside and tried to look past her dead face. Just from what her instincts she was able to tell that Jamie was barely alive. As long as her soul hadn't left her body, she could try and help her. Alia rubbed her face again before locking lips with her.
“Jamie, I'm sorry.” Alia said after lifting her head. She immediately kissed her on the lips again before going into a trans.
…
Jamie opened the door to her past. On the other side she found herself back with her brother again. It was a nice sunny day out today. Michael was still outside trying to get the smudges off of his car.
“Hey Jamie, did you do this?” asked Michael as he ran the rag over the hood. Jamie blinked. When her eyes came open, the scene had become much more sinister. Michael's car was trashed. After he ran his rag across the hood, he tried to squeeze the liquid out of the piece of cloth. Jamie's skin began to curl as blood started to drain from the rag in Michael's hands.
“Oh Michael, I'm sorry. I should have come here sooner.” Jamie muttered as she looked at the totaled car.
“Well,” Michael replied as he walked towards the front. He opened up the driver's side door and reached inside. Jamie still continued to feel a chill as her brother began to pull a corpse out of the front seat. “did you hide this in here?”
Michael slung the corpse onto the ground before laughing. Jamie looked down at the motionless body—it was Michael. Why were her and her brother cleaning up the mess?
“I didn't do this. You have to believe me.” Jamie said to him as she rushed to the corpse's side.
“You killed me! It was you!” Michael screamed to her as he bolted off. Jamie looked away from her brother's corpse and watched as the lively incarnation tried to escape.
“Michael, I have so much to ask you!” Jamie cried as she jumped over the dead body. Her brother continued down the empty grass plain before disappearing into a fog.
“Jamie, you've got to snap out of it! I can still save you!”
Who's voice is this? Jamie looked back and saw Alia behind her. The sight of the demonic figure made her shriek.
“No, not you! Leave me alone!” Jamie cried out.
“Jamie, I don't want to hurt you!” Alia shouted back. Jamie rushed towards the fog to find her brother. She didn't want to go back with Alia. There was so much more to learn right now. All she had to do was catch Michael. Alia gritted her teeth and quickly raised her wings to fly after the confused girl. With one strong flap her body lifted up off the ground and then into the air. She rushed head first into the fog before finding herself coming out into another memory. Jamie was not present in this one—at least not as an adult. She was still young. Michael was standing over her with his fist into her chest. He lifted his fist up and then spit on her shirt.
“I told you that you can't be me! I have something you don't! I tried to teach you everything grandpa taught me and you've failed! You're not even a respectable human being!” Michael screamed. Alia stared at his figure. It was still blurry. Not a single thing inside of Jamie's mind looked right. It was like Jamie was hiding everything from her. Alia quickly sprawled forwards and kicked her legs up towards Michael. Instead of striking him, she went directly through. Jamie gasped for air.
“Michael, I didn't mean to!” Jamie cried out. He lifted his foot off of her before turning away.
“I'm sorry. I just don't want you to get hurt. You can't do my job, and you know that! Demons are very real Jamie, and there's one inside of you. I can't trust you.” Michael said quickly.
“Jamie, you're not like him. You're way better than him!” Alia shouted to Jamie. The young and helpless girl sat up with tears in her eyes. Alia quickly embraced her—pulling her close.
“Just let me die.” Jamie muttered back.
“You're not going to die. I've already done the hard part! Jamie, come back. Hold on, I'll save you!” Alia said finally. She lifted Jamie's head up before brushing her hair aside. Jamie stared at Alia with her emotionless face. As Alia bent forwards to kiss her, Jamie's body began to slowly become sand. While slipping through her fingers, Alia began to suddenly feel everything slip away. Her body quickly faded to black before shrinking and turning back into Rene.
“Oh no, not now,” Rene cried. The last of Jamie's remains slipped out of her fingers then onto the ground where they were swept away by the wind. “Come back Jamie!”
Rene crawled after her remains as fast as she could. The dust just continued to pillow its way down the blank nothingness of purgatory at speeds beyond what Rene could handle. She crawled onwards until the dust vanished into a big white wall. After reaching the massive land mass, she quickly lifted her hands and tried to pierce through.

Kyle landed gracefully onto the concrete flooring. He was just a block away from the cross walk. A train was separating him from the other side—just his luck. The massive two-mile steel bullet continued to dart past him at high speed. The loud screeching form the tracks kept reminding him of the battle just fought. The ringing kept going for so long that he was stating to think of the battle ahead. It was going to take a lot of supplies and weapons to take Rene out. Besides her, Jamie was the most difficult person he had ever fought in his life. Angie wouldn't be much of a problem—he'd already beaten her once. Moments like this called for backup—and it wasn't coming.
…
Jamie lifted her body up off of the black pavement beneath her. As she got to her feet she stumbled backwards. It was almost impossible to keep standing in this world. She ended up slamming into a wall behind her before falling back down.
“Rene, why did you kill me?” Jamie asked aloud. She lifted her arms and then quickly dropped them. Her next reaction was to try and lift herself up, but it proved useless.
“Watch out!” Angie cried as she rose up from over a wall. Jamie just looked to the left and froze. Already closing in on her was a man with an extremely pale face. Blood was gushing from his mouth. The day I met Angie. Angie held her staff close by her side while closing in on the vampire. Using every bit of power, she spun the staff up, and then finally into the face of the evil fiend. Once the weapon struck, the vampire fell back on the ground. The being slid a foot before trying to get back up. Just before it even reached it's hands out, Angie came crashing down with a cross-shaped dagger. With a quick strike to the chest, she managed to bring the beast down. The vampire gasped after having it's heart pierced. Seconds later it shattered into dust before floating away.
“You saved me!” Jamie exclaimed.
“It's nothing really. I hope I didn't frighten you.” Angie replied.
“No, you didn't! That was amazing! I didn't even know things like that existed.”
“That's not what you were thinking when your brother was killed,” Angie muttered before reaching her hand out. Jamie suddenly felt her hand grip onto her neck. Her friend quickly pressed her back against the wall before lifting her up. “you let a demon get him! Why do girls like you have to be so stupid?”
Jamie tried to lift her hands, but Angie's grip only got tighter and tighter. Just as everything went blurry, Angie took a blow to the back of the head from a massive concrete block. The single attack freed Jamie from her attacker's grip. Just across the street, Rene was standing with her hands still lifted up.
“Rene, I'm so glad to see you!” Jamie gasped. Rene nodded to her. Angie shook her head and faced the little girl.
“How did you get here? Who are you?” Angie asked.
“My name's Rene and I'm you're worst nightmare.” replied Rene. She pushed her hands forwards. Angie suddenly felt her whole body jerk upwards and back into the brick wall next to Jamie. On impact, she was finally knocked out. Rene lowered her arms before looking forwards.
“Rene, why did you kill me?” Jamie asked again.
“You're not dead yet. Please stop running away from me. I don't want to dig into your memories and nightmares,” Rene replied as she began to focus on her alter-ego. “I'm about to turn back, please stay with me.”
“I trust you.”
Rene looked down at the ground. The dark clouds began to surround her again. Jamie closed her eyes and tried to look away. Soon she felt Alia's arms reaching out to her. Once her eyes were opened, Alia gave her a kiss. The warmth brought Jamie back to serenity. Violently, the nightmarish world around her began to fade away.
...
“Mmm,” Jamie shrieked after Rene's face up against hers. Fear struck her, so she pushed her arms against the little girl. “Rene! Get off!”
“I'm sorry Jamie,” Rene muttered as she backed up. “I had to bring you b-b-back. My other form has the ability to take lives and bring them here.”
“Am I still alive?”
“Very alive, you're going to be ok. I thought my alter-ego had really killed you. I was scared,” Rene added as she began to rub herself to keep warm. Jamie could see that Rene was still in bondage like before. She could already tell that Rene was freezing. “y-y-you're alive now. T-t-that...”
“We need to get you some clothes or something. You're dressed like were in a bad movie,” Jamie said as she reached out for her. Rene huddled up next to her. “you're so cold.”
