Her words crackled like alcohol
poured over ice
It spread to my head like a dizzy drunk haze
I walked to the altar in my white, white dress
Barefoot and bleeding and
alone
The church held only ghosts and me
And seats held only misgivings and regrets
I set fire to that place and I
Never looked back-
Except to make sure she was still chained inside
