she sits so still, and method
pours into her cupped palms.
pools like water and distorts
the lines in her skin. when she
looks up at me her eyes are
brimming with tact and i
am so, so naïve. i fall too
fast and she knows this,
smiles just how i like, tugs
on my fingers and i follow.
but she is a girl who has
expectations, and i am
innocent, inexperienced, not
enough. when she realizes
this she will go, and i will
