I wrote this monologue for my audition for the school play this year (Les Miserables) and I've decided to post it here. If you like it, feel free to use it for whatever you're auditioning for.
I know you’ll never love me like I love you. That’s okay. And I know we’ll never be more than just friends. That’s okay, too. I’ve long ago accepted the fact that you’ll never feel for me. The sad truth is, I would give my life for you. Surely dying in the place of someone you love is a good way to go. Noble, even. That ought to count for something. And just because you’ll never love me, it doesn’t mean I can’t still love you from afar. Though you’ll never know this, I love you more than life. I’d do anything to make you happy. And if my being miserable heightens your happiness, so be it.
