Full Title: Yūai Tenshi Elementals Volume I: Das Blühen des Lichtes (友愛天使エレメンタルズ 第一巻 【陽の開花】)
Full Summary: After meeting the Hiroshima family—a group of five siblings who can manipulate mystic powers—, the twins Gabriel and Felipe, who have been having the same mysterious dream with cherry trees every night, get involved in countless enigmas and battles existent since time immemorial that have as their center the ones called "Elementals," humans who control beasts blessed with various supernatural powers. After the attack of boys users of such powers and shadow creatures, the two brothers soon discover they have the same abilities and see themselves more and more immersed in this unknown world of conflicts, seeking answers to why they have those powers and that dream. The eternal battle between Light and Darkness and the search for the meaning of existence itself have begun once more. . . .
About: Hello, everyone! After a long time, I'm posting this story again after changing many things that bugged me before. Now, I've even sent it to a few publishing houses and, hopefully, something good will come out of my attempt at becoming a writer whose books are not read by more than a friend or two, haha. For everyone who's new to all this, I'll explain a few things. First, I'm a Brazilian guy who TRIES writing in English, so, have patience with my writing mistakes or sentences hard to understand. The basis of this story and a bunch of its characters were actually created by American friends of mine (who are also here in Fiction Press, look for BlackFire101 and Crystal-Chaos22) and I just changed a few things to fit the original story I was creating (their OCs usually appeared in fanfictions). As a result, much of the story takes place in my country, Brazil (whose language is NOT Spanish ¬¬ it's Portuguese—hey, Wikipedia is your friend, check Brazil out sometime and that way we can learn more about one anothers' countries! I know a lot about yours, considering you're American, but do you know about mine? I assure you it's not made only of soccer and Carnaval ;D), and Japan, since it's a manga-style story (not that every manga or anime has Japan as its stage, but... oh, you know what I mean). It is planned that American Elementals will appear in the second volume (this story is the first), but I can't reveal much. Not to mention characters of other nationalities, but, again, I can't tell much.
Well, are you ready? Each chapter will be made of "heats", because they're like mini-chapters and make things easier for me since I'm still translating the story into English, so bringing the heats instead of the entire chapters will be faster 'cause you guys won't have to wait so much until the next one (and since the chapters are enormous, it also makes the reading less tiring).
The only exception is the Prologue, which has no heats since it's so short, so it's like a heat itself.
Hope you like it!
PROLOGUE
『プロローグ』
A long staircase, surrounded by cherry trees, went all the way up the top of a hill. The wind blew on their faces, taking with it the gentle rosy petals that kissed smoothly their foreheads and noses. The twilight painted the sky with a typical orange color that gave an enormous feeling of pleasure if put together with the chirps of the birds.
"Stairs... these stairs again."
"They just have no end."
No matter how much they tried to climb them, it seemed like they weren't even moving. Two figures at the top of the stairs seemed to taunt them to go up quicker. But it was useless. It was like some kind of magic made them stay on the same spot, giving them the feeling that the steps were being left behind, but it was just a false impression. Their bodies, little by little, got weaker, making them stop, and eventually, they were carried back to
reality. . . .
Reality. . . .
Everything that is real starts with a dream. This one was not different. It was the big proof that even the most normal people could, literally, change the world. Change destinies, change pre-established rules. A little bit of power was all that was needed . . . But not a supernatural one, this one was the least important, but the true will of doing something so these changes could happen.
However, some balance was necessary. Any good heart that bore the power over the so-called "Good and Evil", "Right and Wrong", "Light and Darkness" surely would choose Good over everything else. But, maybe, it wasn't that simple. . . .
The two young and good hearts that were awakening weren't just waking up to a new day, but to their true Awakening that would put them in the middle of a great conflict between the two extremes. Was Light the right one? Was Darkness the wrong one? These concepts would be questioned. In the middle of the conflict, the two hearts would question them.
But the world they intended to change did not accept questioning. Their greatest contend maybe wasn't just against two sides, but against that almost irreparable world itself, which imprisoned and deluded everyone.
It was time. . . .
Voices were already penetrating their ears.
They were waking up to the harsh reality.
That the dreams of them both would build. . . .
