Chapter Three
At first, her grip on his hand was stronger than ever.
But, like all things, the grip slowly started to slip away. Now, the grip was still pretty strong, but it was nowhere as strong as it was before. Suddenly, her hand started to gently lift up, as it she was floating away; and for that matter she was. But he didn’t want her to go; he loved her, for without her he was nothing. She held onto his hand for as long as she could, but the force pulling her upward became too much; she slowly drifted away.
At first, Sienna’s grip on Skye’s hand was stronger than ever.

“How did this happen?” Willow hissed, glaring at the humans as if they were the ones withholding the information.
“I don’t know,” Skye admitted; his voice was shaking. “One moment she was perfectly fine, and then she was deathly ill!”
“I know what you mean,” Aurelia said, coming into the hushed conversation. “Last night she seemed to be in wonderful health, and now she is very unwell. You were with her last night, Skye, did anything unusual happen? Of course, I wasn’t there. I was out flying around the old clock tower; I really wasn’t hungry. Did you know that if I swoop down while flying, I could go at a fast speed? Well, faster than normal, I am pretty fast-“
“Be quiet!” Willow snapped, cutting off her sister’s self-absorbed words. “This isn’t about you!”
Aurelia’s expression was one of shock and disgust. She thought that her sister had no right to talk to her in such a rude and disrespectful manner. But, for once, she kept her mouth shut.
“Aurelia did present a useful question, though,” Willow said, in a much calmer tone than the one she used on Aurelia. “You were with her last night. So, did anything unusual happen?”
“NO!” Skye replied, forcefully. “Nothing happened last night! Besides, she didn’t feel ill until this morning!”
“Hey, vampires!” The shout of a male human made all of the vampires look around in alarm.
It did not happen often, but occasionally a grieving human would approach the crowd of vampires. Usually, they attack and kill a young vampire who had wandered away from the group. But, it wasn’t rare for a human to attack the group.
You see, in the daytime vampires do not posses the strength they have at night. In fact, they are almost like humans, except they do not need to eat. So, it would be easy for a group of humans-or even a single human-to murder a vampire.
Most of the time, the vampires don’t take revenge, especially when it was a young vampire who wasn’t being cautious. However, there is one special circumstance were the vampires bend the rules.
All of the mature vampires would gather together and slowly creep into the killer’s house. They always liked it if the human knew that they were coming; that way they would expel bodily fluids from fear.
Of course, every step the vampires would take would be agonizingly slow. This caused the scared human to become even more frightened, and to vomit more profusely and more heavily. And by the time the vampires had gotten there, the person had nearly died from fear alone.
But, they didn’t mind having the prey perfectly peaceful. It was fun watching them, as they were yanked out of their false sense of security. At first, they would flail around, but, in the end, they always gave up and let dread and fear overcome them.
Either way, it would both end in the same way. The angered vampires would drag the helpless human out of their home and lay them down into the dirt-ridden street.
After that they would beat the human, but they wouldn’t use their hands or feet.
Instead they would use rags, that had many was many large stones in them. They would smack the struggling body, until the powerless human was begging them to stop. Then the vampires would feast.
They would start ripping the flesh off the human’s bones, smiling in pleasure as they listened to the human scream at them to just kill them now. But, of course, they didn’t obey.
When there was practically no flesh left on the broken body, then they would kill the human. And, by then, the human was barely hanging onto life. They were waiting for death to come soon, but noting happened. The vampires had left them to die alone. And, the sad thing is that, no one deserved to die alone.
Not even the most awful people deserve to die, wondering when their body will be found-or even if their body will be found. But, the vampires choose to ignore that fact.
There is only one reason why the vampires would go that far for vengeance. The human killed one of their babies.
Babies are special to the vampires, because they are rare. Now, all vampires come from babies; therefore no one can ever be made a vampire. However, a vampire baby only comes along every couple of years. The twins were a blessing; having two vampires’ babies at the same time almost never happened.
But, the human approaching the vampires did not come to hurt them; he came to warn them.
David Smith was not an honest man. He cheated at cards and lied to the town officials. But, worst of all, you could never tell what side he was on. One minute ago, he was talking about the plans to wipe out the vampire who killed Anne. And now he was warning them about it, with all the human’s watching.
Yes, David Smith’s time was running out fast, but his warning was greatly appreciated by the vampires, except one certain vampire.
Willow always said that she wanted to know if someone was out to kill her, but when it came down to it she would rather live in ignorance.
“Are you okay, Willow?” Aurelia asked. “You look kind of pale.”
“Are you stupid?” Willow barked. “People are out to kill me!”
With that Aurelia grew deadly silent. She didn’t like her sister all too much, but she never wanted her to die. In fact, some of her worst nightmares included just that. So, when she heard her sister admit that she killed Anne, all she could do was worry. She didn’t even cringe when they walked into the laundry area, which was a very nasty place.
The laundry area was small and cramped. Vile creatures scampered across the floors, and the pond that was used could get murky and sticky.
Many people hated the laundry area, but it was the only place where they could get their laundry done without paying. However, on this day the hate was not aimed at the area. It was aimed at the vampires who were currently taking up most of the space.
The vampires noticed the tension, and they choice to pretend not notice it. But what they could not ignore was when Willow dipped her shirt into the water; the water turned a scarlet red. Nor could they ignore the gasp that filled the air.
“MURDER!” All the humans shouted. “MURDER!”
