Author's Note: FINALLY! Jake's precious POV!

Min Hui had rarely seen Jake so frustrated. The disappearance of Cheryl ‘Chevy’ Chin was turning into a total nightmare, no thanks to her brother Chi Hao Zeng, a salesman for Jaguar. He so happened to be friends with MP Kang Liao Seng. If you mixed a simple disappearance with political pressure, you get all sorts of bullshit heading your way. But what had this got to do with Jake?

Jake’s POV

Cheryl was gone. And that Chin had threatened to expose my relationship with her. Not that it was much of a relationship, but it would still affect my career and dating prospects. My anger deepened. Why had I chosen such an unlucky person? From the very first second, I knew that something was wrong.

Chevy had arrived with no cash and a skimpy purple dress on. Her only other possessions that night had been a pair of purple high heels and a purple bracelet. No purse no shawl, nothing else. And I hated purple. Imagine my frustration when she complained of the restaurant being too cold. My jacket was meant to keep me warm. Then, I thought of a brilliant plan: I refused to lend her my jacket or anything else.

That would have worked fine, had she not spilt her plate of steak onto herself. The dark sauces dripping down her dress and the dark stares from patrons overtook my self-righteous explanations.

So, I took her for a cheap movie, a horror flick, and left in the middle of the movie. Chin complained that very same day. I was sick, I had claimed. Did he want his precious sister sick too? He never replied. Now, he was hankering on that few hours to blackmail the investigation. And I was not even on it. Time to speak to Chin and end this. Permanently.

Lionel’s POV

It was interesting to see how Chin coped with his sister’s disappearance. He was either stoning, sobbing hysterically or yelling hysterically. Once or twice, I heard ‘Jake’ and ‘police’. Now that could not be a coincidence. Lover boy had a part in this. How wonderful.
