Raven

Chapter 1

As I rolled over my Nightmare before Christmas alarm clock went off. I slapped my hand down on the small object, and grumbled under my breath as the annoying noise stopped. I pulled my Pikachu blanket up over my head as the sun peeked through the curtains, and momentarily blinded me.

This morning was already turning out to be a crappy day. I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my watery eyes, and slipped my feet into Hello Kitty slippers. I sluggishly walked to my window and closed the curtains fully. I stopped in my tracks to my dresser when I saw sitting there something that had not been there the night before. On the dresser was a small action figure of what appeared to be me. Coming closer to the dresser I picked up the doll and examined it. It wore black eye shadow and eyeliner like I always did. Her feet were decked out in combat boots and her legs sported black fishnet and a black pleated skirt. She wore black fingerless gloves and wrapped around her torso was a black corset. It had been the exact outfit I wore not more than two days ago.

I tried to wrap my mind around the idea of how this could be possible. I came to the conclusion that I was being stocked and or my older brother was trying to play a trick on me. But why would he go through all the trouble to create something so awesome? I sat the doll next to my Inuyasha plush doll and left the room to conceal myself in the bathroom. I shed last night's clothes and got into the shower.

Imagines of my dream came back to me. I was lying in a pool of blood, but it wasn't mine, but there was a pain in my heart for the person that it belonged to. I had sat up and watched as the blood dripped from my fingers onto my purples and black leggings. The blood blended into the cobwebs on my leggings, so I didn't even notice that it was drenching my legs. I got up feeling disgusted and looked around myself for any signs of life. In the corner behind a table lay a being. I quietly walked up to it.

"Um excuse me?" there was a long pause before I repeated it. The second time the person let out a loud gasp and sat up searching for air as it held its chest. I tapped the persons shoulder and it quickly turned to face me. His face was covered in blood and the corners of his mouth looked like they were permanently stuck in a frown. His black shirt was coated with black blood and his blue jeans were splattered with even more blood. He racked a hand through his grease black hair, somehow regaining a little composure. He got up and tried brushing the blood off his pants, as if he could improve his appearance anymore. I stood there speechless as this being turned away from me and picked up a piece of cloth and washed his face of the remaining blood. He turned back to me with a devilish grin on his face.

"Excuse me; I'm dreadfully sorry you had to see me in such a state." He said as he began to walk towards me.

I stood there in shock as this handsome creature was making its way towards me. It felt as if my boots were stuck to the carpet and had planted there selves there to stay. He stopped in front of me as my breath caught in my throat. He reached his hand out towards me and gently brushed a strand of hair away from my face.

"Are you scared darling?" he questioned it like he had known me for years.

I blinked once before his smile turned into a frown and the light faded from the room. I was then awoken from my dream-like state as cold water was running down my back. I had totally forgotten that I was standing in a shower. I quickly turned off the water and wrapped a towel around myself and fluffed the water out of her my. I stood in front of the mirror and wiped the remains of last night's make-up from under my eyes. As I finished I caught sight of something in the mirror. Pushing aside my hair, I uncovered two tiny pin pricks on my jugular vein. I gently traced the two holes and jumped when banging began on the bathroom door.

"Raven hurry up! You're always taking so long in the bathroom." My pesky older brother yelled.

He always bugged me at the most awkward of times. Sure he's only 20, but that doesn't make up for the fact that he annoys me to tears. I grabbed my stale clothes from the floor and unlocked the bathroom door to be faced with an angry looking older brother.

"I'm sorry, I was uh…distracted." I protested as my hand instantly went to my throat.

"I think your just letting things get to your head." He said as he walked passed me and closed the door behind him.

I walked to my room and shut the door behind me, and flopped down on my bed when my cell phone began to go off. The sound of Drop Dead, Gorgeous: Dressed for a Friends Request, began to fill the room. I let the ringtone go through once then turned over and picked it up. All that was heard when I pressed the phone to my ear was silence, before my ears were filled with the sound of soft classical music. I pulled the phone away from my ear and checked the caller ID. It came back as Withheld. I blinked and held the phone back to my ear.

"Uh…hello?" I said into the phone uneasily.

I waited for a reply but all I heard was the continual sound of classical music. I frowned to myself and was about to hang up the phone when I heard a faint chuckle.

"Hello? I know your there! I can hear your crazy music." I waited for a reply but got none.

Sighing I shut the phone without waiting for an answer. I tossed my phone onto the bed and lay back covering my face with a pillow. I then felt a vibration next to my hip. Feeling around I came up with my phone in my hand. I opened the cursed thing and it read that I had a text message. It didn't say from whom, but I opened it anyways.

"I know what u dreamt about." Was all it read.

"Who is this?" I reply.

I sent it and turned off the phone. I'm done with weird creepy stuff happening to me. With Halloween only days away, I had to get ready for the haunted mansion I was putting together in the old mansion on the hillside.

Getting up from my bed I tossed my towel in the corner of the room and got dressed in black jeans and a HIM T-shirt with holes in the sleeves. I pocketed my cell and some change for gas and fled my room and made it downstairs in record time. I was stopped in the living room by my cat Myles. Myles jumped up onto the couch and rubbed his face into the cushions. He mewed and purred, for he was only and 8 month old kitten. I picked up my attention grabbing kitten and curled him into a ball as he licked my hand. Going to the kitchen I sat him onto the ground and pulled out his kitten food. I filled up his bowl with kitten food and then brought it to the sink and added warm water to the food. Walking back to my kitten that was licking its paw and grooming itself, I placed it in front of the small animal and watched as the Myles ate his food.

I then remembered the reason for my coming down stairs. Walking into the living room I found my small Batman Backpack hiding behind a pillow on the couch. I opened it and pulled out my make-up bag. Quickly I did my make-up without a mirror. I pasted my eyelids with a dark black eye shadow and quickly redid my eyeliner that still showed, even though I showered. I stuffed my make-up back into my bag and slung it over my shoulder. Leaving the house I climbed into my beat up purple Gremlin. I occasionally heard jeers and laughter every time I stepped out of my little car. I could careless though. The car suited me, and I liked that I was different from everyone in my small town. But I had a strange feeling that whenever someone saw the car they thought of the 1984 Gremlins movie. Maybe that's why people stared at me strangely, or it could be on account of me wearing such bizarre clothing out. When in fact that's just how I dressed. It's not my fault I grew up watching horror flicks instead of watching Barney or Tella Tubbies. So instead of dressing up as Barbie for Halloween, I dressed up as Dracula or some scary monster with horns and blood gushing from everywhere. The kids in middle school were afraid of me, but that just made me feel as if I were in control. But now in high school, the kids were the same, but being a junior has its upsides. The kids were going through all of the same things. They go through changes, and different looks and God, acne.

I started my car and slowly pulled out of the drive way, but was stopped when I caught a reflection in my side mirror. I turned in my seat to find no one behind the car. I stared back for a bit, expecting someone to pop out, but no one came. Giving up I turned back around and began to pull out, putting my car into reverse and drove on toward the thrift store in downtown.
