I Am: Little Red Riding Hood
/
I'm going to my grandma's house,
I've got a nice surprise.
Freshly baked homemade cookies,
Grandma loves the little guys!
/
My mom tells me to hurry,
Not to wander off the path.
"The woods can be quite dangerous!"
At that, I have to laugh.
/
In the woods I spot some flowers,
Pretty as can be.
I decide to pick some for my grandma.
Not one, not two, but three.
/
Before I can continue
On my way to grandma's house,
A friendly wolf approaches me
As quiet as a mouse.
/
He asks me where I'm going,
So I tell him about my day.
The time has gone by so fast.
I must be on my way!
/
I hurry along to grandma's house.
I knock softly on the door.
A voice tells me to come right in,
But it sounds a little sore.
/
Grandma looks a little odd,
And she sounds a little funny.
She says she just has a cold,
But her nose isn't runny.
/
I suspect grandma is hiding something
So I start to ask her questions.
She answers very carefully
As if not to reveal confessions.
/
"Grandma, why are your ears so big?
And why are your eyes so wide?"
"It's just so I can hear you better
And see you better too!" She lied.
/
"But grandma, why are your teeth so pointy and long?
And why is your face so hairy?"
"They're better to eat you with my dear!" She growled.
It was all very scary!
/
I ran screaming from the house
As the wolf began to chase me.
A lumberjack heard my cries
And thankfully he saved me.
/
He made the wolf spit grandma out.
It turns out that he ate her.
Then he took the wolf deep in the woods
And continued with his labor.
/
"Grandma, I'm so sorry!
I should have come straight here."
"As long as you're safe and sound,
It's alright my dear."
/
The moral of this story,
In case you didn't know,
You should never talk to friendly wolves,
In any place that you might go.
