Chronicles
Of
Crystalline
II
This story is dedicated to my Aunt Barbara. I use to always act out those stories in the basement for you with my toy sword and you use to brag about how I had the biggest imagination you ever saw…where ever you are I hope you like this one.

“I…I want…to kill”
“what? Ugh…you’re tired, well talk about this tomorrow”
“n-no…I want…to…KILL”
Dravix walked into the small pub he had found in a rather small village. In fact the village was so small he couldn’t even really be sure weather or not to consider it an actual village. It had been only a few weeks since he escaped the dungeons inside of Onyx Prison. Those cells were so cold and dark…he had been use to putting people in them, not being in there himself. The bar tender handed him the drink he’d ordered. “thank you sir” he said handing the man some money to pay the amount. Taking a swig of his drink he relaxed in his seat. “I wonder how long it’ll take them to find me” he wondered. Looking around the pub he noticed a poster on the wall with a picture of a man. Under the picture it read “wanted by the Imperial Army. Large reward offered to anybody who turns in former Imperial warrior Dravix. Considered armed and highly dangerous-approach with caution” it took a few moments for him to absorb what he had just read and then it hit him. “I’VE ONLY BEEN GONE TWO WEEKS AND ALREADY THEY HAVE POSTERS UP FOR ME!?!?” he screamed. He caught himself realizing that by screaming he was making a scene and some of the people were now looking at him. “shit…me and my big mouth” he thought to himself.
A bar tender and two customers were walking towards him and he groaned. “great…here we go” he whispered standing up. “I don’t want any trouble” he said. “yeah? Well then shut up and sit still while we contact the authorities” said one of the customers. “they’re already on the way” said the bar tender. “what!? You asshole!” yelled Dravix and all three of them laughed. Dravix knew he had to get out of the village as fast as possible, though he wanted to do it without having to fight or even hurt anybody he knew it wouldn’t be that easy. “I guess I’ll be going then…here’s a tip” he said handing a few gold coins to the bar tender. “keep you’re tip, maybe it’ll be enough for bail money” he said laughing. The two customers drew swords and he knew he wouldn’t get out of here unless he fought his way out. The red crystal around his neck began to glow. “fine…have it you’re way” he said as he drew his sword and lunged towards the door one of the two men with the swords jumped in front of them and their blades crashed together. He leaned into the man’s blade and caused him to stumble backwards before slashing the blade across his stomach. He turned around in time to dodge a strike from the other man that would have cut straight through him if he hadn’t caught it.
He kicked the man to the ground and then noticed the Imperials had arrived charging into the room with their weapons drawn. “great…well it looks like the whole gang’s here, nobody told me there was a party!” he said sarcastically raising his sword. “you’re out numbered Dravix” said the gangs leader whose name was Branks. Branks had once been his best friend and now they were face to face in battle. “that might be true…so I guess I’ve got no choice…but to my blast my way outta here!” he said. “Dravix, I don’t want to have to kill you…just give it up and make this easier on both of us” he said. Dravix growled under his breath. “YOU’VE NEVER SEEN ME GIVE UP BEFORE IN ALL 20YEARS OF OUR FRIENDSHIP, WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU EXPECT ME TO GIVE UP NOW!?” he yelled and with his sudden burst of anger the red crystal glowed a bright blood red. He held out his hand and gathered energy from the crystal into it. “GET OUTTA MY WAY!!!” he screamed and a burst of hot wind exploded fourth burning everybody in front of him and blasting the pub’s doors off the hinges. Dravix ran straight out the door and into the village more Imperial soldiers ran towards him and he cut them all down.
Branks crawled out of the pub, still alive but badly injured. “DON’T LET HIM GET AWAY, HE’S NOW NOT JUST A TRAITOR BUT A MURDERER” he yelled to his surviving men. But Dravix was long gone, having jumped the fence on the side of the village and landing in a creek leading out into the woods. He came up onto a dirt path and then ran off the path into the middle of the woods collapsing against a tree. He took a deep breath putting his sword away. He glanced at his crystal. “I have to stop using you out of rage” he thought to himself. Glancing up at the sky it was getting cloudy. He stood up and walked a few feet out of the tree area down to a small patch of fresh grass. He plopped down on the grass lying on his back and staring up into the now grey skies. A rain drop fell and hit his face, then another and soon it was pouring rain. “rain…she always loved the rain…
He stood on a beach his sword held tightly in his grasp as the bastard stood in front of him. Between the two of them lay the body of a girl about 15 or 16 years old, no signs of life were shown on her face and Dravix looked consumed with hatred. Gripped tightly in his other hand was a small crystal that was starting to glow red. “you…you…k-kosou…I’ll kill you” he said between gritted teeth. The crystal burned red now, feeding off his rage. “I’LL KILL YOU, YOU BASTARD!!!” he screamed lunging forward and swinging his blade towards the man who was laughing now.
Dravix sat straight up in the grass drenched in rain water. It was the sound of thunder that had woken him. “damn…memories suck…Kiyoko…I miss you” he whispered standing up and making his way towards a small cave for cover from the rain.
