Sometimes love is not enough

Dust motes were dancing in the air, blinking in and out of existence and twinkling like minuscule stars in fading sunlight. The silence was deafening – drumming, echoing, hurting – making me wonder if you had spoken at all, if you had been here at all.

I love you was never enough.

I’m sorry will never be enough.

The piano keys were cool beneath my fingertips as I plucked random, solemn notes. Anything to drown out the silence of your absence. Anything to fill the you-sized hole in my heart.

Dust motes were dancing; twinkling like minuscule stars and blinking out of existence.

A/N: Recognize it? Well, I revised the other one and this is what happened. I can't be bothered to remove the other one right now so it'll just have to stay where it is.
