The light was dim, as the sounds of music blared from a room. Kenny Morgan was laying on his back in bed, listening to his ipod. He had gotten the ipod a while ago. Kenny had wanted an ipod for a long time, so he saved up some money in order to be able to buy one. It was silver and Kenny had gotten some music beforehand so there was nothing to stop him from trying it out.

The door opened, and Claudia Ornelas walked in. Kenny and Claudia had been friends since sophomore year, now the two were both seniors. They were also good friends with two other students at their school; Sam Parker and Leo Ramirez. Since all of them hung out with lots of different people, a person who didn't really know them would assume that they didn't know each other.

But when they did get together, then that assumption was proven wrong. Claudia and Kenny had three classes together, and people who knew them from those classes would know that they were friends. In class, Claudia and Kenny joked around alot with each other about being a couple. But there just a close friendship between the two of them.

"Hey Claudia" Kenny said.

"Hey" Claudia said. "You want to go see a movie?"

"There ain't no good movies out there, angel eyes"

Angel Eyes. That was Kenny's nickname for Claudia. When he called her that in class, people would ask them if they were going out. The answer was usually the same: "No, we're just friends"

"Come on sweetness, please" Claudia said, giving him her best innocent look.

"Ok" Kenny said.

"Good, then let's get out of here"

The front entrance doors to the movie theater opened, as Claudia and Kenny walked through them. Autumn McGinnis looked at them and rolled her eyes.

Autumn was a junior, who thought that she was better than everybody. Claudia, Kenny, and Sam saw her for who she was. A sad, lonely, pathetic girl who tried to be above everyone. But poor Autumn couldn't cut it.

Autumn happened to Leo's girlfriend, and Claudia and Sam had been trying to convince him that she was no good for him. Autumn rubbed her relationship with Leo in Claudia and Sam's faces, and both girls couldn't help but wonder if she was really into Leo. Maybe Autumn was just going out with him, in order to have a boyfriend. Even if it was a guy who she didn't like, the same way that he liked her.

"Well, look what ugly dragged in" Autumn said, as she walked over to them.

Claudia and Kenny decided to ignore her.

"Excuse me, i'm talking to you two" Autumn said. When they didn't say anything, Autumn purposely stepped on Claudia's shoe. "Oops"

"Bitch" Claudia said, raising her hand quickly.

Autumn fell to the ground, as Claudia punched her in the face. When she tried to get up, Claudia placed her red tennis shoe over Autumn's arm.

"Get your foot off my arm, or i'll tell Leo" Autumn said. "You punched me cause you were jealous"

"I punched you cause you're bitch"

Autumn looked scared, as Claudia smirked at her. Kenny laughed.

"Claudia, if you gon do somethin.. do it now. I think the manager bout to come." Kenny said.

Two hours later, Kenny and Claudia walked out of the movie theater.

"That horror movie you made me watch was disturbing" Claudia said.

"It was cool" Kenny said.

"No it wasn't"

"I think Leo gon have beef with you"

"Cause of that bitch? Nah, Autumn knows that the bond that Leo and I have is stronger than her lies"

"If you say so"

"I know so, sweetness"

It was 7'o clock at night and cold outside, as Kenny walked down the street. Claudia told him that she had go and talk to Leo, before Autumn did. She asked him if he wanted to come with her, but Kenny declined. He would've went with her, but he needed some alone time.

Kenny didn't feel like going to back to his house. He and his mother would probably get into another argument. What Kenny needed was to be away from her.

A year ago, Kenny considered running away from home. He looked up stories about it on the internet and found out that some runaways either ended up raped or prostituting. He didn't want to live that kind of life.

A car was going down the street, on his side. The car stopped and parked on the curb. As the cardoor opened, Kenny curiously turned back to look and realized that he recognized the people in the car. He knew them back when he was only a freshman, but he moved and thought that he wasn't going to see them no more.

Rosa Hernandez, Juan Moreno, Martin(pronounced Mar-teen) Garcia, Alejandro Valdez, and Piper Rodriguez were all sitting inside of a black SUV. Kenny wasn't sure who it belonged to, but guessed that it was Juan since he was in the driver's seat.

"Hey" Kenny said.

"Are you who I think you are?" Rosa asked. "Kenny Morgan?"

"Yeah" Kenny said.

"We've got to catch up then" Piper said.

"We were going to McDonald's bro" Alejandro said.

"You want to ride with us?" Juan asked.

"Ok" Kenny said.

This reminded him of getting into a stranger's car and going somewhere with them. Back when he was twelve years old, he got into this woman's car and she drove him home. But since Kenny knew who he was riding with, he figured that it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Claudia, Leo, and Sam had never met Juan, Rosa, Alejandro, Martin, and Piper. It was because Kenny moved during the summer of the freshman year, and that before he had met Sam and Claudia. Back in freshman year, Kenny didn't get along too much with Rosa. But as time passed, he became friends with her and then Alejandro, Piper, Juan, and Martin sometime afterwards. Kenny couldn't even remember the reason why he and Rosa didn't get along at first, and he figured that he was better off not knowing.

Kenny got into the backseat where Alejandro, Martin, and Piper were sitting at.

"Can you move?" Piper asked.

"Yeah" Kenny said.

"We off then" Juan said, before pressing his foot on the pedal. The car sped off down the street.
