Her name is, or was, Tana. For fifty years Tana relives her death. The reason?
For punishment.
No one can save her, except for one.
The howl of a wolf was heard in the forest. The moon has risen, and a ghost-like figure has appeared.
She sat on a bolder that was next to the lake. Her long, black hair past her waist, and her hands were folded neatly in her lap. Her sad, but lifeless eyes were gazing over the lake. She could see the reflection of the moon and the stars, but not herself. A small tear trickled down her cheek and off her chin. The small tear dripped into the lake and cause a small ripple.
A snap of a branch was heard. Tana sprinted off , away from the lake. She knew who it is. She knew what was going to happen.
"Tana..."
"Tana..."
"Tana..." Her name was called many times, all by different voices that surrounded her.
A wolf made the sound that is makes when it's about to pounce its prey.
Tana was tackled to the ground and she let out a cry.
Fifty years ago, when Tana was still alive, she was what is known as a Negrita.
A Negrita is very similar to a werewolf, except that they can change between wolf or human whenever they want. One thing is for sure: they are not man eaters.
Tana was in her human form, hunting for dinner with the pack. Even in human form, Negrita's can eat raw meat because of their metabolism.
Kana, the mate of the alpha, howled the signal to charge at their prey. They all transformed into their wolf form, but Tana already beat them to the buck. She ground her fangs into its neck, tasting the salty metallic blood.
The wolves behind her glared at the young wolf.
The buck cried when Tana seeped her fangs further down its neck. The buck kicked its legs back and forth, attempting to buck her off its back.
It failed.
Blood gushed out of the buck's neck and dripped to the ground. Tana spun around and stood on her hind legs. She wrapped her arms around its neck and threw him to the ground.
The buck was breathing heavily as its sad eyes stared at Tana. Tana smirked and smashed her paw into its skull.
It was finally dead.
Tana dug her teeth into the bucks ribcage and started to eat its meat.
Tana just broke two of the laws of Negrita's: never hunt or eat alone.
The wolves stood there, watching her eat the bloody meat. A younger wolf came to get a bite of the buck but Tana scratched the younger wolf's face with her claws. She bared teeth at the wolves and growled. They all backed away from her as they watched her eat.
Tana finished her dinner and the bones were left on the ground of the buck. She changed back into her human form and licked the blood off the tips of her fingers. She grinned deviously at the pack. She knew she broke two of the laws, but she could not care less. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and sprinted off into the den.
"Kana, she broke two of the laws," one of the males commented as he changed into his human form. The others followed in suit.
"I'm not stupid, Titu. I know what my sister did." She glowered at him before she ran off. Titu watched her run off into the distance before he faced the pack. The eyes of the pack were now on him.
His eyes gazed over the pack, a smirk coming across his lips. He thought of a plan, a plan so bad it could kill someone.
"My friends, for twenty years our enemy Tana has been tormenting us. She is the younger sister of the alpha's mate, but is it okay for her to break the laws?" Titu eyes glowed with hatred and despise. All of the pack grinned at him.
"No!" All of them agreed with him.
"Then what should we do?"
"Kill her!" The pack howled as they all transformed into wolves. Titu jumped in front of them and lead them to the den.
Tana was chewing on a piece of meat she had fought for against another wolf in the cave. She enjoyed the savory taste of the meat, but it didn't occur to her that the pack was coming closer.
Kana was laying next to her mate. She was quiet, but the alpha was even quieter.
He raised his head up when he heard howls around him and Kana. He stood up on his paws and got into a defensive position. Kana stood behind him, growling softly.
Titu walked out of the fog, grinning deviously at Kana and the alpha. The alpha kept his defensive position. He could tell that Titu had a diabolical plan. Titu stood five yards away from the alpha and Kana.
"Titu, what has brought you here with such an evil smirk?" The alpha asked, even though he already knew the answer.
"Why, my good friend, would I ever mean to hurt anyone unlike Tana has?" Titu dug his claws into the ground. The alpha knew Titu was ready to fight.
"Tana? Tana has done nothing wrong! She's the one who protects us and makes sure we have food! She-"
"She's the one who breaks the laws! Why does she not get punishment like the rest of us?" Titu snapped his teeth at him. The hairs on both of their backs stood up. "Attack!" Wolves around them charged at the alpha. Kana jumped on a wolf and bit into its neck. The alpha clawed at any wolf that came near him.
A howl was heard and all of the wolves turned their head. Tana stood on top of a bolder with a snarl.
"If you want me, then try to catch me!" Tana nodded her head at Kana before she ran off. The wolves chased her.
"Tana, no!" Before she could run after them the alpha placed his paw on her shoulder.
"Let her go, Kana. It's time for her to face her punishment." Kana sadly frowned and cried a sad howl to the moon.
Tana didn't need to look behind her as she ran. She could hear the wolves behind her. Tana stopped at a cliff. A light laugh was heard behind her. She didn't look back at the pack as they came closer to her. Her head hanged low when she faced them.
"Tana, you have broken too many laws and we have decided your punishment," Titu grinned at Tana. The young wolf glared at him.
"Death!" The pack yelled as they walked closer to her. Tana backed up till her paws touched the edge of the cliff. She stopped.
"Before you all take my life, I want to say that even though I broke laws I'm sorry." She looked over the pack with emotionless eyes.
"Apology denied!" One wolf shouted. Tana stood there with her head held high.
"You will relive your death over and over again till you're either saved or damned to Hell!" Titu jumped her as the rest bit into her. Tana did her best to fight them off, but there were too many of them.
Tana cried when Titu ripped at her ribcage. Titu jumped off her. "Get off of her." The wolves backed away from the almost lifeless wolf. Titu smirked at her. "Enjoy Hell." Tana didn't do anything as Titu kicked her off the cliff. Tana closed her eyes and let out a tear. Her back collided with the ground and she heard and felt her bones break before she died.
Tana cried softly as she laid there on the ground. She watched her blood surround her body.
"Please, someone save me," she pleaded.
A light in the distance caught Tana's attention. A figure came out of the light and her eyes widened.
It was Kana! Kana has come to save her!
Kana held her hand out to Tana. Tana gladly took it. Kana helped her get up from the ground and she kissed her cheek. The bruises and blood went away. Tana's body looked new again.
"Let's go home, Tana," Kana said to her. Tears were flowing down both of their cheeks. Tana hugged Kana.
"Thank you," She whispered in her ear. They both changed into their wolf forms. Tana looked at the moon with a smile and howled at the moon. Kana joined her as well. They both looked at each other before they ran off into the light.
Tana is finally free.
