"..the stars lean down to kiss you and i lie awake and miss you.." - vanilla twilight by owl city
when we were kids, we used to pretend that we were pirates and use this great life-size encyclopedia as our make-shift boat. we would sail the seven seas with our imagination and take turns being captain and because of our clumsiness, we used to break our father's figurines and make him really mad at us. then, we would play dress-up and pretend to be supermodels with only blankets as our outfits. we only end up looking silly and we usually collapse on the bed, laughing like crazy. i remember it was christmas and we would eat cinnamon candy canes. they taste bad but we would lick them until there'd be nothing left, anyway. i remember we also used to play with paper dolls and design them outfits. we used to draw them houses using the pages of old notebooks and crayon. i also used to wear my slippers in reverse - the left one on the right foot and the right one on the left foot. fortunately, i saw a flick on tv about wearing slippers the proper way.
we all used to have long hair and pretty dresses and lived in this big house with glass walls and lots of mirrors. people would call us "tres marias" because we used to be in a choir and sing on sundays at church and at times, we would dance and people would clap their hands and join us. life was so simple and easy back then.
now, the three of us are all grown-up. eleven years have passed since we moved to the city and i miss those moments when we would look up at the sky with innocence in our brown eyes hoping to see a shooting star and we would hold hands and make a wish.
love may break us but our hearts bound by blood would make us whole again.
