Prologue
“A young heart is as fragile as glass. If one were to drop it, it would shatter into sharp, jagged pieces on the floor and when the person tries to put it back together again they cut themselves. Then, as they try again, they keep on cutting themselves until the whole floor is covered in blood and they fall into despair and pain. Falling into darkness while leaving the pieces of their broken heart on the cold floor…”
A figure stood there at the edge of the doorway. Light illuminating from behind poured itself down upon the small portion of the floor not covered in shadows. The small portion of light showed that the part of the floor that can be seen had some feathers on it with some strange red dots while two lumps were seen in the darkness in where the light didn’t reach. The wind hollowed through one of the open windows with the red curtains dancing about with it.
Stepping into the room, she hesitantly searched the wall for the light switch. Feeling something warm and sticky on the wall, she withdrew her hand and gasped shock. Blood. Blood was on her hand.
She stared at her hand more with shocked eyes till she backed away against the wall, unknowingly pressing against the light switch and turning on the light in the room.
What she saw made her even more horrified then the feel of the warm liquid in her hand. The room was covered with the crimson liquid, all splattered on the walls and furniture, decorating it red while the torn up king sized bed. In the middle, the bed had its pillows ripped up and feathers all over the bloodstained floor where, two motionless bodies lay. All mutilated in the stomach where their insides came out. And to make it even more horrifying was that, the two corpses were her parents.
She did the only thing any child would do when they come back home from school only to find their parents murdered in their own home.
She screamed.

“Police reports of a murder in Columbus, Ohio where the two of the parents were killed in the most horrific in their own homes. Police refuse to go into to detail.
And a most shocking thing is that the only daughter of the family, Isis Edens, was the only survivor, due to her going to school. She comes back home from school only to find her parents dead in their rooms. Police reports that the twelve year old is in a state of shock and trauma and will be in the hospital with two police officers in the moment until they could contact a close relative to take her into custo-”
Lifting up the remote in her hand, the woman turned off the T.V. right before Nancy Grace could finish the rest of her sentence. With a sigh, the woman pushed herself off from the couch and walked over to the window looking out to the front entrance.
“I had hoped this wouldn’t happen.” She whispered while hissing was heard behind her. She turned around to cast her green eyes towards the shadows, narrowing them when hearing more hissing. Sighing, the woman said to herself “I had hoped the circumstances would’ve been much more better than this.” She turned to her left side, as if seeing something or someone there in the empty space. “Amanda, you do know what this means do you?”
A ghostly figure appeared next to her then in the Victorian style room, wavy white hair trailing down beside her while her big luminous eyes looked up at the woman sadly. “And so, the story begins” She said with a grim voice.
The woman nodded as her hardly aged face looked back out the window, short black hair ending past her shoulders seemed to wave suddenly with unknown magic.
The shadows twist and turned, seeming to react from the woman’s emotions while hissing out loud.
Then, they calmed and stilled themselves, returning back to being just shadows.
