Full Summary:
The entire earth is at war, against an enemy only a few can see, let alone battle. The invisible beings are clearly a threat; homes are blown apart suddenly, parks ravaged beyond belief, and people, hundreds of people, simply vanishing, without a trace. But for young Aria, the war is just something heard about of the news, something her ten year old mind is only dimly aware of, something that is happening to others. It’s nothing connected to her and her family. Then.
“Do not ever give up, Aria”
Those were the last words her mother said to her, only moments before her entire life was turned upside down, and reality was shoved at her. Suddenly crippled and alone, she retreats into herself, holding onto a self imposed vow of silence, breaking off all ties with everyone around her. She wants nothing to do with the war, or anyone. Four years passes, slowly, but peacefully, until a boy shows up at the orphanage window, bringing with him more unwanted, and dangerous, guests.
Thrown in the middle of the war she so desperately tried to distance herself from, Aria reunites with someone she believed dead, learns of a small group of teens who have been fighting the invasion, and is asked to assist with their cause.
But she wants no part in a war that was initiated by individuals born years before her time. But can she really just turn her back on her brother, her friends, and the rest of the world?
The battle was begun by the prior generations. It is up to the current generation to fix the mistakes of their forefathers.
