Truth

What happened to you?

Where’s the girl you used to be?

The one that knew God would see her through,

The one that seemed so wild and free,

The one that used to be my best friend,

Is that girl still there?

This won’t hear the truth that needs to be said,

This one covers her pretty face with her hair,

This one looks like she’s lost,

She turns away,

She wants to escape at any cost.

What am I supposed to do?

Do I just watch you slowly fade?

It’s hard cause I know what you go through is rough,

But neither of us has it made,

With me not being there for you I know it’s tough,

Yeah, I have a house and a car,

But this wasn’t my choice,

I didn’t want to be this far,

But why aren’t you using your voice?

Don’t look at him or look to her,

Stop trying to play a role you know you don’t fit,

When did my best friend's existence cease?

I speak the truth cause I don’t want to wake up one day and hear the bad news,

You and your pills went to sleep and never woke up,
