Re:birth is going to be a story, manga/web comic and animation (as soon as I get around to those things) Keep a look out on my Youtube page under the name Lehxra for future animations.

This chapter features 3 important characters, one more important than the others. Alex, Nasaline and Cassandra. Don't get too confused. :)

(Disclaimer:) I do not own The Juliet Dagger, their song Minute, or Youtube.

I decided to use The Juliet Dagger to open this because I needed a band that wasn't really well known and one time when I was in middle school, this band came and performed for us and gave us a cd with them(Last Conservative) and The Juliet Dagger on it. I actually kept it, 'cause I liked it. And The Juliet Dagger had some cool songs, so I actually bought one of them that I heard on their Myspace. I was perfect.

It was their first real gig- not counting that thing where they were the opening to some hugely known band and no one paid much attention to them 'cause they were unknown. These people were actually there for them. They've been a band for a while now- 2 years. They had compilation cd's with other indie bands that were given to school kids who probably tossed them as soon as they exited the auditorium. They had a couple of videos on Youtube that gave them a few hundred fans. Of course, they had fans from when they first started out and were playing in Josh's basement and the neighborhood kids would come and listen to them. That was in Buffalo. They were in New York City now on a huge stage in front of hundreds of screaming fans.

Erin shivered as they walked up to the front of the stage. It was an October night, and it was pretty cold. She cursed herself for wearing short sleeves tonight. She glanced at her band mates as they got into position. She gave a curt nod to Josh, their drummer, and he gave the introduction. The crowd screamed louder as he ended.

"This is a song we all wrote together; this is Minute!"

Erin sighed and closed her eyes. Nervous was an understatement to describe how she felt. What if she messed up? If her fingers slipped? If her voice croaked?

She started her guitar solo.

Nasaline and Cassandra stood in the crowd, extremely excited. Nasaline had been the one to make Cassandra a fan. They were best friends, and Nasaline practically always had their cd's or videos playing. One in particular had always caught Cassandra's ear. It was kind of melancholy, in Cassandra's opinion, but beautiful none the less. She and Nasaline were fans of Erin's opening solo.

And as soon as Erin played it, both girls screamed to the top of their lungs.

It was easy enough after everybody else joined in. They sounded pretty nice in her opinion. She gave Leisha a quick smile before she opened her mouth.

"The sky is falling down...you let it hit you, you never made a sound and can you- can you pick up the pieces? And can you- can you switch to reverse? Yeah can you cease this? Yeah, you. Never thought that you...would end up here yeah you...never thought that you...would disappear but it only takes a minute-" Erin smiled as she sung and played. She could hear the crowd singing along with her. "-we can lose ourselves in it. Again..."

Alex swore as soon as she got out of the building. Why did she have to skip school? Why did she have to end up here? Alex Gihon did not like night school. Not one bit. But she failed senior year and barely passed junior year. And her mother told her to go to night school to get caught up. How stupid was that?

She pulled out her ipod when she got to the train stop. This was the free fare zone, and it was above the ground instead of below in a tunnel. She was pissed that she had to miss The Juliet Dagger's concert, but she had homework, and lots of it, so she settled for just listening to the songs. She switched it on random and let some song play.

She nodded to the song, but suddenly shivered. She cursed again. She was was in her stupid school uniform at night with no coat. That reminded her...

She looked around to see if any creepos lurked around. She was in a freaking skirt for Christ's sake! Some lady with a toddler stood some yards to her right, some dude paying her no attention to her left. She turned around. Goody. Security officer. She felt safe now. But as she kept looking at him, she felt...odd. Like some strange aura was coming from him...what the hell?

She turned back and ignored the creepy feeling. It made her miss the first chorus. Where was she? She listened.

The waters getting deep...

there's barely room enough left for you to breathe

and can you

can you hold your breath?

"And can you- can you keep going when there's...nothing left? Yeah you...never thought that you...would end up here. Yeah you. Never thought that you...would disappear but it only takes a minute. We can lose ourselves in it. Again. Again..."

Where was this freaking train at? She looked to the end. Well, it was dark, but nothing bright like a train light. Why was it-

She paused, and everything went blank, as if something decided to take control over her. Why were her legs moving on their own! Just great. Such a great time for the train to come when she was getting ready to walk off the platform against her will! She could have sworn that she was about to die, when someone pulled her, and her glazed over eyes showed their normal gray-green.

"Hey!" the man that had been standing to her left said, "Are you crazy!?"

"I..." she began. "I guess I didn't know what I was doing. I'm on antidepressants," she murmured. That last part was a lie, but she knew that it would be believable.

"Oh. Well...be careful kid," he said and shooed her into the train.

She sat down and tried to think. What was that? How exactly could that have happened? Had she been hypnotized? Who did it? And what was up with that security guard?

He smirked and slipped off into the darkness. He'd get the girl later. She wasn't supposed to even be alive now, but she soon wouldn't be. And if his master was right, and she really was one of them, then she needed to be dead before she was awakened.

"Ugh!" She grunted when she got home. Perfect time for her mom to not be home. She was kind of scared to be home alone right now. Creepy stuff was happening, and it wasn't even halloween yet. She threw her stuff down and started for the stairs. Screw homework. She was going to get in her bed and crawl under her covers. She was halfway up the stairs when the door was busted down. Was her mom extremely angry about something or something like that? But, as luck would have it, it was not her mother, but some weird demon creature thing. She turned to run up the stairs, when it was suddenly in front of her. She screamed and fell backwards down the stairs. She tried to twist and hold onto the end of the railing, which she succeeded in, but twisted her ankle, making her cry out again. It was in front of her now, and it slammed its arm down onto her head.

Blood trailed down her face and she looked at the door. She really needed to escape, but how could she make a run for it? Her ankle was twisted and she was getting rather dizzy. She looked back at the demon and screamed out again until it clawed her whole chest, and part slitting her throat, leaving her to bleed to death on the floor.
