"Nyasy! Up! Up!"
"Huh..." Nasaline opened her eyes to see her little sister in front of her trying to wake her up. "Wha...?"
"Up Nyasy. Time fo schoo bad girl!" Her three year old sister had a habit of using her nickname all the time. Ever since she heard Cassandra say it, it stuck, and she would use it for her big sister all the time.
"Gosh, Sam, I'm up. I'm up," she said and got out of bed, stretching. "Morning, lil sis."
"Morning Nyasy. Get eat."
"Right..." She walked down the stairs with her sister, said hi to her parents, ate breakfast quickly and went to go change for school. Just regular clothes. She thought about the girl in the uniform yesterday. She was grateful that she could wear normal clothes.
She grabbed her stuff and ran out the door to catch the bus, hoping she wouldn't miss it like she did yesterday.

Cassandra passed her a note in U.S History. They always passed notes in that class, because it was the only one they had together.
'Did you catch that movie last night? The High school of the Dead one?'
Nasaline nodded and shuddered. 'That shit was crazy. Even I got scared.'
"Seriously?" Cassandra said aloud and then covered her mouth.
"Yes seriously, Miss. Hayman, the Constitution is our current written government and our second attempt at one. You don't believe it?"
"I... I guess I do.."
"Good. And do you know the first written government that preceded this one and didn't last?"
"Um..."
"Articles," Nasaline whispered.
"The...Articles of Confederation.."
"Very good," the teacher said and continued with his lecture.
"Nice save, Nas," Cassandra whispered.
Nasaline smirked and gave a thumbs up.

"T.g.i.f. Yess!" Cassandra jumped in the air. The two were headed to their lockers which, super luckily, were near other. "Let's do something this weekend!" She smiled and grabbed some books to put in her backpack.
"Fer sure," Nyasy said and slung her messenger bag over her shoulder. "Gotta go."
"Don't miss the bus again!" Cassandra called after her happily.
She rolled her eyes.

"Nas, can you stir that for me? Quickly, quickly."
"Yeah." She ran from her spot of chopping the carrots to go stir the noodles.
"Thanks," her mom said, still forming a dough. She wasn't quite sure what she was going to make with that. "What am I making...?"
"I don't know, mom."
"Hmm," she said and looked at it. "Maybe biscuits."
"Yeah, sure."

She stood up and put her plate in the sink.
"So, what are you doing this weekend?" her dad asked.
"Probably something with Cass."
"That's cool."
"Aa," she said and went to her room to do some homework.

She woke up late Saturday in the afternoon. She wasn't hungry for breakfast because they made a lot of food last night.
She rolled out of bed and closed the curtains. It was far too bright. Her eyes adjusted to the dimness, and she decided to turn the tv on and watch a movie. She fell asleep again.

It was the evening and she decided to take a walk in the park. It was always nicer to walk when it was getting darker and no one was there. She was walking through a part with many trees when she heard a rustle. She turned around to look. She didn't see anything. She squinted and listened for another sound. She saw it came from a rather large bush. She wondered if some sort of animal was trapped. She walked closer, when she saw some form of an arm come out, then the whole body came toward her.
What the hell was...
The demon creature continued to walk towards her, and she ran as fast as she could. She used to take track in middle school, but never went back to it after that, but she still had speed. She looked back. She noticed that the demon creature- which appeared to her as a female- seemed to be hovering toward her quickly. She looked forward again and swore. She was fast, but she knew she couldn't out run that thing. She ran for about 100 more metres before she ran out of breath, and the demon was in front of her in a blink of an eye. Her eyes widened and she started to back away when its 'arm' was thrusted into her stomach. She tried to scream and cough up blood at the same time, but it came out as a gurgle, with blood trailing down her mouth. It took it's arm away and Nasaline fell to the ground.

She woke up in a white room. She turned her head, and only white clouded her vision. She hated this place in which she was in. She felt a tap on her shoulder, and she whipped her head around and came face to face with a little boy. She stared at him, but she couldn't see is eyes. They were covered by his long bangs. She blinked a few times before she opened her mouth. "Where is this?"
"The white room..." His voice was low and creepy.
"The white room? Where the hell is that? And what was that thing that killed me?!" she yelled. She started crying a little. She was scared.
"In the in between world...."
"What?"
"That this," he said and handed her a gun.
"Why do you want me to take that...?"
"You'll know soon enough."
"I- hey wait!" but he was gone, and suddenly she was in a new room. She could tell because the table she had been laying on wasn't there. What was she supposed to do now? She started walking, and that walk turned into a jog, and that jog turned into a flat out run. There had to be a way out of this place, right? She thought about the gun he gave her. She pointed and shooted, but nothing happened. She stopped running. Was this thing broken? She threw it and continued running. She could have sworn she ran past a door. She stopped and ran the other way. A door! She threw it open and ran through...
...
ending up in the park again, standing in a puddle of what she could assume was her own blood. She looked down at her clothes. Perfectly fine. But the gun found its way into her hand again. She jumped back, fell backwards and dropped the gun in the process. It 'poofed' away. She blinked and stood up. That was enough excitement to last her a lifetime.
She jogged home and snuck into her room through her window. She opened her door and looked around the hallway. She peeked into her parents' open room and inwardly sighed of relief. They were fast asleep. She quietly walked back into her room and she too fell asleep.
Cassandra jumped on Nasaline's bed while she sat at her desk.
"You are so immature..."
"What do you expect? I'm 15. I'm practically a child."
"I believe you, except for the fact that you're a 15 year old senior. You're a senior, so technically you shouldn't act like a child. You're super smart."
"I can be a super smart child that jumps on beds."
"...."
"Yess."
"Ya know..." Nasaline said, the air taking a serious turn. Cassandra stopped bouncing and sat at the edge of the bed. "I had this dream...last night. It was the weirdest thing. I got killed by a demon...but then I came back to life and this kid gave me a gun..."
Cassandra stared at her. "You always have the weirdest dreams."
"No but-" she waved her hands around, "it was so real! Like... I came back and stood in my own blood."
"That's gross."
"I know, but-"
"So let's go."
"...?"
"To the scene of the crime. Come ooon!" She stood up and grabbed her friend and ran to the park. "Where did you end up?" Cass asked, running out of breath but still running.
"Over there somewhere-"
They stopped.
"Holy..." Cassandra trailed off.
A yellow crime scene tape blocked off the way. CSI and police were on the inside. They stood around blood stained grass.
"Looks like your little dream was reality."
