Psychokinesis
I nervously stared at the nickel trapped under the clean clear glass cup, willing it to move under my control. The various wires strapped to my head and chest were making it unbelievably difficult to concentrate at the task at hand. The gigantic gray and sliver computer sat across from me, processing whatever information the wires were giving it. Finally, the nickel moved, pushing the cup over the edge of the wooden table. It fell with a smash, sending glass shards across the metal floor. The computer started making a loud screeching noise and when it stopped I realized everything was silent again. He came in with a more-intelligent-than-thou look on his smug face, as usual. As he started rattling off useless mumbo jumbo about "hits and misses" I stared down at the nickel amongst the shards, pretending not to notice his presence. I could see his reflection in a piece of glass, he ran his fingers through his graying hair and sat the clipboard in his hand on the table, reveling his nametag "Robert"
He has been my "therapist" for twelve years. It started at my third birthday party. I had received a new G.I. Joe doll, I've never been one for barbies or Hello Kitty, and was enjoying it in the kiddie pool. I had decided after all that time in the box Joe needed an underwater mission so I sent him on his way. After about five minutes of Joe's mission Leonard,my cousin, ran over to me with a huge grin on his face. He had been soaked from a water gun fight minutes earlier and he started to drip on me, since I was already wet that part didn't bother me any. However, he bent down close to me, "How is Joe's mission going, April?". He leaned in closer and whispered in my face. "you know that when people are underwater for a long time?", answering his own question, "they drown, and sometimes their heads fall off". With that he snatched the action figure out of my hand and plucked his head off. What happened after that left Leanard with a burn mark on his left leg and me living in a "theraputic facility". The facility, S. King Institute, was actually a building in which scientists would carry out tests on children with psychokinetic abilities.
