Plunge within the dusk, bask in the clouds, was the lyrical thought that brushed against the boy of sixteen’s mind, it was but a faint whisper, but audible none the less. For the sunset gave him that impression. He dropped his fingers down to his side pack and slipped the tiny pocket open with a quick rip of the zipper. He drew out his prized possession, the aspiration of his years of strict saving, and the utmost favorite item he wholly owned. His camera. It was top of the line, and highest in it class. He had seen it various times on either the fronts of famous tech magazines and even on the hands of some of his personal favorite photographers. He pressed the body to his chest drawing out the lens he deemed worthy and fitted it for the occasion. Smiling as the Velcro strap holding one of the pockets opened with a crisp new sound. He couldn’t wait for the time when he used it enough that the sound would be a music to his ears harboring the only seconds left till the scene was captured in the memory of his camera, and in his mind. After pulling two filters he wanted to explore with, he snapped the lens on, brought up the filters and held them between his pinky and ring finger, cupped the camera in his hands. It rose, it’s eyepiece assumed the oh-so familiar spot between his right eye and nose. He stared through the lens admiring his subject, the waning sunset cast orange light, before he could push the button down he breathed in a breath, the breath filled with the almost new-car-smell.
