Winds

I laugh with thee

With so much glee

Thanking thy heaven

For my good old brethren

I rise to the occasion

With good intentions

No though of thee in my mind

But I find myself bind

Brethren of past

Raises to stand

Left in the dark

I lay like

A piece of bark

A new wind blew

And into new ground I flew

No sign of a brethren

In this barren place

Only friends were

The creatures with wings

I didn’t know

What the future would bring

Wanting out

Another wind

Blew me far out

In this new place

It buzzed with life

But with one of the first I meet

I truly felt beat

No wind took me away

I guess I had to

Get used to the fray

Cold winds blew

And leaves changed color

But nothing changed the odor

When the six cycle blew past

Any hope that I had left

Fell fast.
