The cheek that remembers, that recalls most clearly
the memory of you and your soft lips dearly.
Forever engrained, doubtless and haunting
what follows me everywhere; it will not leave me!
I cannot forget, though neither explain
what occurred that evening, more at a loss to say.

From my mouth, words spilled incoherent and soundless
You'd deny if I told, but you cannot escape this.
There was something you did, a great vexation you left,
Speak truly to me now, for I know you'll pretend
that it wasn't a kiss, just a brush of the lips
“An accidental brush of the lips, but I swear, not a kiss!”
say you, most flustered, defensive and angsty
But answer at once, for it's the uncertainty what pains me.

I see beyond those placid blue eyes transfixed
I notice what you yourself may have missed...
Your touch what set my heart aflame,
Caused restless questions, made you blush in shame
And now you're here with no words remaining,
but silent lies you tell to conceal true meaning.
When comes the end of our hearts restless battle,
And the answer to that fateful evening enshadowed?

My theories proven by only one witness;
the cheek that remembers, remembers your cold kiss.
