"Are you sure? Can I meet my ancestors?"

"Yes! But I have to finish the final test, so to insure we don't disrupt the space time continuum." My best friend said.

Thomas and I have always been friends, connected by our drive of history. My ancestor is the 1200's last King of Wales, the necklace drives me to find its meaning.

"Kendra Elizabeth! Get out of that science lab immediately!" God the mom factor strikes again.

The name Kendra apparently means something somewhere so I guess that's why my name is such, yet I never have to wonder why my middle name is Elizabeth. Ever girl with some sort of gift as seen from her birth on my father's side of the family is given the middle name of Elizabeth. This tradition has gone in my family for over 16 generations. And no one in my family was willing to quit it now, even if I am the last-born child of this generation.

"Coming mom!" I yelled up the stairs to the main floor of the house. Yet you could call it a manor, but we call it a house.

"Stop that awful habit of yelling, or calling me mom." My mother drowned into my head.

"Yes, mother. I will continue to think on that subject as my fiancé arrives." I said sarcastically as I descended up the bright staircase of doom.

"Don't take that tone of voice with me, young lady. We have much to review before he gets here." My mother said adopting a softer tone, " I know you don't wish to marry, but I could not do anything about it, the deal was signed by your grandmother. It was not brought to my attention until your grandmothers will arrived. Now will it be silver or gold?"

Snore, planning a wedding I did not want to a part of was so much fun! Mr. Jetsun was to arrive momentarily. When he arrives we were to discuss impending doom, our marriage. My heart has always belonged to Thomas, my childhood sweetheart. I will miss him when I go to my marriage bed.

"Gold I guess. Yet I need diamonds and roses in my hair, with a tiara."

This is my mother's last straw; she sighed and let me go back down to my science lab.

" It's finished!" Thomas shouted with joy. He rushed to me hugging me with all of his happiness.

"Please Let Me Go Now!" I shouted with my entire force ness.

"What's the hurry, Kendra? Got something on your mind?" He asked curiously.

"I have to get out of here! He coming today, I don't want to get married when I'm only seventeen!" By then I was crying.

" Babe I'm sure he is going to be nice and let you keep your science labs." No he won't. I thought and moaned.

"Alright then lets go turn on the battery so you can shuffle though time." He turned into his smashing lab coat and started up the time shuffler.

I stepped on the platform and said, " Goodbye, Thomas. For good I'm not going to come back."

The machine hummed and transported me though time to the year, unknown to the time machine that built by Thomas and my brilliance.

" Get the princess to safety!" A burly gentleman shouted.

"Ahhh!" I screamed as I was almost run over by a horse. The man noticed my slender frame just before he ran it over with horse clotting hooves.

"You lassie," he said as he got off his horse, stopping the carriage behind him, "Why are you in the middle of the road alone with out an escort in the middle of a war?"

" Ummm, Ummm. War?" I stuttered to my own oblivious mind. "What war?" I questioned as I got up to challenge his statement.

" Saucy aren't miss, truly a Celtic at heart. Hey, Princess maybe she's a cousin? Ha, Ha me mother would be nothing happier than to see you have a sister like figure, specially after your parents death. Oh sorry my lady." He grunted unintelligent after such a mistake.

" Excuse my servant, miss. Captain of the Royal Guard? Ha, you would have barely passed school if it had not been for my help." She stared out of her window in which her eyes landed on me. Our eyes widened on contact, she, me, it could not be! We looked so much alike it was criminal! I had found the person whom I was looking for, my great grandmother by the look of the necklace around her neck.

It was she, the Princess turned commoner by the invasion of Wales by Edward the first. Catherine de Wales, the only one who could explain the mystery of the necklace and of myself and the turmoil I felt inside myself.
