6 Weeks in SMC Pneumatics
By: Outlaw02Extreme

Six weeks of activity, I initially thought it would be mind-boggling challenging,
Due to the nature I possess, I am simply a meek, quiet individual,
But that hasn't stopped me to taking the first step into the compounds of the company,
The very first change in atmosphere, I knew it would be a drastic one.

In the first week, interesting would be the word,
Though most of the time, I was reliant on people for any assignments,
Tubings needed cutting, bolts, nuts and washers needed packing,
They seemed to remind me of my previous part time job

The second week, things started to pick up a bit,
AutoCAD drawings of the company layout; lacking fire escape routes from previous students,
But time decided to play a fool with me by erasing my AutoCAD skills,
I had to refresh every single bit on what function of the program does.

The third and fourth, it came and went rather quickly,
But the fact that I felt part of the company,
No longer I was detached, no longer meek about being the only student,
Everything went with the flow, I admit that I was getting used to it.

The final two weeks, productivity came hitting like a sledge hammer,
Urgent orders came in like hail, though I was prepared for such bombardment,
Preparing components and products ahead were the best solutions to reduce urgencies,
It seemed that two weeks worth of components seemed to be ready on standby.

From the views with my eyes I came to notice,
And the sounds that I heard, I came to realise,
One such phrase exactly explains the situation in the company...
The world is peaceful when SMC Pneumatics gets little to no complaints, everyday.

But nevertheless, thank you to the people that has guided me through the six weeks,
Even if sarcastic words have been passed,
Or the annoying sounds coming from my portable media system,
Darn it was one heck of an experience being in a working environment...

...Definitely different from other part time jobs I have done...
