I Saw the Light

I felt no one could take my brother’s place
I felt empty inside
Frowns etched my tear stained face.

Days passed and I felt like there was no end
I wallowed in misery
Reliantly, I called-out to my only friend.

I prayed for a new morning start
peace, washed over me
Love filled the gap in my broken heart.

Gentle arms cradled me throughout the night
within I felt reborn
Life began at dawns early light.

Jesus opened my eyes so I could see
Refreshed, I arose
Death lost its grip on me.

Needa S.

Note: This piece was based on my brother. He died a few years back with cancer and I was devastated by his death. But as you can see I found peace in prayer. Just in case anyone is wondering, my brother was a Christian too. Thanks for reading and God Bless.

Psalm 116:9-I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
