Tearing Me Down

You tore at me

Cut me deep

And while staring at the wounds

Laughed at my weakness

You hurt the core

Stopped only short of killing me

And after I said I was injured

You kept going

To fuel your own pain

You ripped my hert

Took as much as I was willing to give

Kept all the best parts

And disgarded the leftovers

You burned my flesh

Held the fire to close

And set me ablaze with

Pleasure and with anguish

You beat me at this game

I didn’t know the right moves

My novice mismatched your expertise

And I crumbled in defeat

You tore at me

Dug deep enough to leave a scar

And while staring at the wounds

Stepped over the smashed ruins
