Trust and Lust

I trust you with my body

But not with my heart

Your games are exciting

But the level of exhaustion in

Trying to win

Is taking its toll

Weaving in and out

Of your past

Trying not to step on land mines

Left by previous players

And trying not to get lost

In the beauty of you fortress

I trust you in secret

But not when public eyes are present

Your words are inviting

But the hidden meanings are

Too intricate to decipher and

I’m losing focus

Taking blows after blow

In a battle I didn’t begin

In a battle I’m not equipped to

Finish, your emotional armor is too strong

And I’m afraid I’m not capable

Of winning the war

I trust you with my lust

But not with my soul

The inner fights are too deep

And the outer presentation is too fake

Neither of us understands the

Consequence of dancing so close to the edge
