Chapter Three

New Friend

I was now twelve years old and felt older than ever. Mom said, "Katie, for your birthday if you wanted a new pet you can get one. " I had to think about that for awhile because I love Princess and she was my best friend. I told my parent I didn't want a new pet and that all I need was Princess. Also I think Princess would be mad at me if I got a new pet. What I need really was a new friend not that Princess was not a good friend but I needed someone who could talk to me. There was no one who was as crazy like me.

One day a new family moved next door to me and the best thing mom told me they had a little girl about my age. I wanted to meet her so bad but mom said I should go and meet them tomorrow. I said ok. I could not sleep that night. The next day I woke up and could not wait to meet the new girl next door.

I finally went over to say hi. I was so scared! I thought about how I would say, "Hi." I finally rang the bell and the little girl's mom answered. I said hello and I lived next door. She said her name was "Claire." She also said she had a little girl named "Samatha." I asked if I could meet her. She said wait one minute and I will go get her. I said ok. Finally here came Claire with Samatha.

I said, "Hello." Samatha said, "Hi." I said my name is Katie. She said her name was Samatha. I asked her that if it was ok with her mom I wanted her to come over to my house to hang out. Her mom said ok. On the walk back home with Samatha was quiet. I think both of us was glad to finally be at the house. We went up to my room and it was still quiet! Well, not soon after we walked in princess jumped off the bed to see what was going on. Samatha said, "I LOVE your room! It's so pretty!" Well I just had to smile at that because she was the first person to every tell me my room was beautiful.

I then decided tell about all my adventures I had. She was how do I put this, shocked maybe but more surprised. Mind you I don’t usually tell people about my adventure.

She Finally said, “Cool! Do you think I could help you on your next adventure?” I said, “ Of sure it will be fun.” Now that how I found my best friend.
