Honors Day

Perfect pricy private

All-girls Catholic

High School

(with only 200 people)

Every year has an

Honors Day

They call up the perfectly perfect people

Who have good grades to get a fancy certificate

97-100% Average is Highest Honors

94-96% Average is High Honors

92-93% Average is just simply Honors

Only about 10 people from every grade

Get one of the honors

Honors in Language

Honors In Math

Honors in History

So on and so forth

The other 160 of us

Sit in our stiff uniforms for the entire day

Staring at our Mary Jane’s

Pretending that we really care

And are so happy

For these Honors

Our classmates are receiving

I hated it

Loathed it

Despised it

It was one of the most humiliating things

I’ve ever had to sit through

Four Years in a Row

You couldn’t skip

Otherwise you would be expelled

And anyway

It was a special ancient all girls Catholic high-school tradition

That goes back three hundred years

All of the time I sat there

I wondered how many of those girls

Had hated it too

Honors Day

Humiliating

And

Demeaning

That’s one of the reasons

I plan on sending my kids to public school

I’ll save $8,000 (apice)

And they won’t have to sit through

Those BULLSHIT

Look who’s SO much better than you

Ceremonies

Public Schools don’t ask you for major cash donations

A couple years after you graduate

Where am I supposed to get $1,000

Where am I supposed to get all that cash

I’ve written this poem

All this way

It should end

But I don’t know what my

Conclusion should be

SO

This is the end

Send your kids to public schools

People at private schools get beaten up too

You’ll save yourself major money

And

This is the end
