Upon the sandy shore, of a pebble spangled beach,
She wandered to the wake, of waves just out of reach,
She gazed out to eternity, to a horizon turquoise blue,
Wading through the salty tears, the tears of maiden dew.
--
Seven tears she cried, and added to the tempest,
Watched by waiting stars, waking from their rest,
And as she wept he came, swimming strongly just to she,
A man of beauty dark, who called his home the sea.
--
Shedding for a while, his turquoise home and hearth,
To love a human maiden, to light her wailing heart,
He wanders out to her, skin shining in the night,
And she grasps his hand in hers, eyes holding him in sight.
--
Seven tears she cried, to bring him back to here,
Loving salty dreams, so she could hold him near,
And his eyes said he remembered, that she was his heart’s song,
So they let their dear love sing, knowing tomorrow they would long.
--
By sunrise he’d be gone, returning to his turquoise home,
And she’d be left again, to find her way once more alone.
But he’d promised he’d remember, her seven salty tears,
And soon they’d be together, in seven yearning years.
