I learned Today In Science Class

I learned today
in science class
that magic is not real.
That leaves in autumn
are not from elves
but from a carotenoid.
That babies aren't from
flying storks
but are from egg and sperm,
That lightning are not angry gods,
That stars are not old souls,
That air's composed of atoms,
And that the sky's not truly blue.
I learned today
in science class
that magic is not real,
and the fact that
Ignorance
is really, truly, bliss.
