hey john
i hope you feel improved in some way today
i do, thank you
this afternoon i revisited the log we shared last night. turns out the trail doesn't end; we just strayed from it. the place was just as amazing though. the daylight does it equal justice.
i even cleared away the random debris and bark that made it somewhat uncomfortable then sat there and wrote some words,
and i must tell you--as i was sitting on the tree, a male black-tailed deer joined me in the brush, often as close as twenty feet away! i coexisted with him off-and-on for about half an hour it was so beautiful i nearly cried!
a thin female then came by about twenty minutes later. she was somewhat more skiddish, but god, how magestically they walk! ...very beautiful creatures.
there was also a rather cute squirrel who played peek-a-boo with me on the log. she smelled my shoes but i had to sit very still and my leg fell asleep in the process; i wished i wasn't wearing doedorant!
of course there were the same dogs barking and the same background buzz of vehicles, bugs, and birds. surreal, i tell you.
i did notice a conspicuous lack of rattle snake sounds though. hmm.
anyway i figured i'd share with you some of the poetry you helped create. you're right; it's not exactly the same thing i would have written had we each just gone our separate ways after dinner. but i have no regrets.
your friend
