Once upon a time, there was a girl. She was smart, funny, and rather strange. She wasn’t tall nor was she short. Her long brown hair hung in two pleated braids past her waist. Intelligent brown eyes with slightly green edges flitted around her surroundings through deep red glasses. She wore long-sleeved shirts and jeans nearly every day. Black and white arm warmers gathered around her wrists and over part of her forearm. A bunch of bracelets covered part of the arm warmer on her right arm. She tapped a sliver ring with star cut outs and rhinestones on the table with her middle finger and added a tap with her thumb as the too large ring with a figure of Mary on it hit the table. She changed the taps from her rings to her rather long nails at which most were amazed. She reached down to a slim, purple iPod that sat in her pocket and then up to the safety pin that stuck out of her lip. It wasn’t pierced….yet. This also earned her many bewildered glances in the halls. But she would just keep walking with a little smirk on her face.

She was generally quiet, unless you caught her with her few friends. One of her friend’s fathers was completely shocked when she graduated in the top ten percent of her class in the eighth grade. Then, she went to spend the night at the friend’s house and they all saw the loud, funny , smart side of her. She sounds rather interesting, doesn’t she? No? Well, maybe strange would better describe her. She’s pretty strange, isn’t she? No, not the strangest person you’ll ever meet but strange nonetheless. Oh come on! You have to admit that I am at least a little strange! You do because I like being strange and weird and freaky. Yes, I am the girl of once upon a time and this is my fairy tale. A fairy tale of a very confused girl of once upon a time……
