Powdered dougnut is always last
To be pulled from the box
And popped into a mouth.
Sitting in the corner, she waits,
Wondering if she has been
Forgotten about.

Maybe it is because she leaves
Such a dusting of sugar,
White as newly fallen snow,
Behind on lips and fingertips
And all over unsuspecting clothes.

Chocolate goes first, and then the glazed,
Followed by jelly and sprinkled and custard-filled,
But it's powdered doughnut people resent.
Only the thrill-seeking few will take on
The challenge her sugary fluff presents.

When someone says, "There's on more left."
No one even asks, "What kind is it?"
They know there is one variety
That no one would bother with.

But she can't help the way she is and
She doesn't mean to make a mess.
She may leave some residue behind,
As her name suggests,
But powdered doughnut is delicious nonetheless.
