Leo cane was a twenty two year old chef working in a restaurant In a town where nothing really happened but it was home

He was just finishing cleaning his knives when his friend genie started knocking frantically at the back door leading into the kitchen, Leo let her in but before he could say anything she ran for the fridge and grabbed a bottle of white wine, pouring herself a glass she sat as Leo asked her what was wrong.

She told him how she had gone home from work and found that her house was trashed but the door was locked and so were the windows she checked her house top to bottom and found nothing there and nothing missing so she called the police and as she was talking to an officer over the phone she heard a strange sound then the phone went dead she tried calling again but couldn’t get through, as she walked to the restaurant knowing Leo would be there she kept getting the feeling that she was being followed.

“ok so why would someone break into your home, being very careful, then cut the phone lines?” he wasn’t trying to be mean but it was late he just finished a very long day of work and he wanted to go home, what he didn’t want was for his friend, who had probably already helped herself to a generous amount of drink, to start telling him a crazy story which was most likely not true

“You don’t believe me do you?” ok so she did have a few drinks before she came to Leo but she wasn’t making it up, not much scared Genie she had been to hell and back and she wasn’t fazed, well that’s what she told people but Leo knew better.

He knew that under the jet black curls that framed her pale skin with bright green eyes and pouty red lips often painted a deep shade of crimson, there was a very scared girl who drank and her sorrows away and had a very realistic mask of a happy young woman that she often wore.

“It’s not that babe I’m just tired maybe we should talk about this in the morning” he sighed he wanted to go home and sleep like the dead for a few hours, was that really too much to ask?

“I can’t go back what if someone is there, can I stay with you please just for tonight?”

She was literally begging, on her knees staring up at her friend, she knew he couldn’t resist.

“Fine but just for tonight” he had no idea what convinced him but he knew he needed to do something Genie could be stubborn as hell if she wanted.
