Beautiful Alone

By: Brenli

Sweet

The sadness runs thorugh frail veins

Attached to a cut up heart.

I cry, I cry

But no tears run and make trails

Of liquid loneliness down moon-shaped cheeks.

And I scream, I scream

But no words form to make known

All that inner torment you threw back to me.

Beautiful alone

But I hate this loneliness

That feels so alien without you.

Loneliness was lovely when it was with you.

Tortured and beautiful

I am the tired girl holding scissors,

Because two blades are always better than one.

Metal on skin

Flesh splits, cue blood,

And finally I can cry and scream.

Cry and scream over the story

Of the girl beautiful alone,

But dead all by herself.

Sweet

The sadness pours from the cut up heart

Through frail veins...

And out onto the carpet of a pale green room.
