Willie’s Adventures, First Day of School

Hi! I’m Willie, and this is my story.

It’s the first day of September, and I am scared because school starts today.*

Mommy tells me to not worry about it. That I will have fun, but I am still not sure.*

Mommy got me up early in the morning to have breakfast. Then she gave me a bag and told me that it was my lunch, and I could eat it when Mrs. Prosser, my new teacher, told me I could.*

When we got to school, Mommy took me up to the teacher and introduced me to her. She told the teacher that I was scared.*

“That’s OK. Everybody is a little scared at first. But do not worry, I am sure you will make some friends by the end of the day. Go over there and play.”*

I went over and found a giant floor mat and some toy cars. I picked one up and started racing it around the mat when another kid came over.*

“Hi. I am Billy. I like your shirt. Can I play with you?”

“Wow. Our names sound alike. I am Willie. Sure you can play.”*

We played together for a while until Mrs. Prosser shouted out “Snack time!” Snack was animal crackers and apple juice.*

After snack, we learned about coloring, spelling, and counting. We stayed doing that until Mrs. Prosser told us it was time for lunch.*

After lunch, we had recess, where Billy and I played on the monkey bars.*

It was the same thing after recess. We played more with the cars and took a nap.*

After we had a nap, school was really close to being done. We had another snack and did some more coloring.*

Soon after, Mommy showed up to pick me up from school.*

On the ride home, I told Mommy about Billy and how much I loved school. I can’t wait until tomorrow.
