Don’t Go, I’ll Eat You Up I Love You So.
My boyfriend was very...odd to say the least. In school he was the guy that all the girls drooled over, the guy that could actually say something and be heard; Farrel was the guy that everyone wanted to be, and for good reason.
You see, in the small, messed up town in the middle of the boondocks, there were clans...not just any clans though, werewolf clans. Outside of school was when Farrel's animalistic side took over; rarely was he seen out of his wolf from. Farrel didn't eat human food, didn't enjoy being a human, and hated humans for all that we're worth. Sadly, I'm a human. Now do you see what I said abouth him being odd?
These reasons were why today, on Halloween of all days, I was going to break up with him. Another reason was that he was imperious and possessive. I mean really, is there no such thing as a personal space bubble or "me" time when he was concerned?
Sighing, I fell back onto the meadows' ground, which was our meeting place. Hearing a thump, I glanced up to see Farrel slowly morphing back to his human form. "What did you want to speak about Kara?"
"Maybe I just want to speak."
Farrel let out a low chuckle. "You humans, so...talkative. Can you not shut up for a second?"
That was the last straw for me. Farrel was always belittling my kind, always seeing himself as superior; I was tired of it! "Farrel just shut up. If you just listen to me you'll understand why I want to speak to you." Farrel nodded, as if he was giving me permission to continue! Jerk. "Farrel, to be quite honest with you, I'm tired of this." Gesturing my hand from him to me, I continued, "Tired of us."
Farrel tilted his head to the side, as if not getting what I was saying. He was always kind of...slow, if you get what I mean. Apparently he did indeed understand because I could hear a growl rumble up into his throat. "Kara, do you mean to that that it's over?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying. We're over Farrel." I got up from my spot in the meadow and began walking away. "Just leave me alone. Don't talk to me, don't try to contact me, don't do anything!"
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I stiffened up. Farrel said, in a dangerously low voice, "You do know what's going to happen right?"
I shook my head, intent on not letting my fear show. Farrel wasn't going to get to me, he wasn't. That was the way people would always lose against him; they would allow him to manipulate their fears! Farrel turned me around and forced me to meet his gaze, chin locked in his grasp. "The last girl who broke up with me was never seen again."
In that moment I knew what I had to do. Quickly analyzing Farrel's grip on me I realized that I could get away. So I did what my momma always told me to do and kneed him in the groin. He let out an agonizing groan as I turned around and began to run my exercise-hating butt off! Trust me; it's a lot easier to run when you have a murderous werewolf behind you.
Hearing a howl, I picked up the pace as I knew Farrel could catch up to me quicker in his wolf form. Hopping over a stump I yelped as my foot got hung up in a tree root by it.
Trying to yank my foot out didn't work; it only made the situation worse. All I could hear was my heavy, labored breathing. Trying to keep as quiet as possible, I took out my pocket knife and began hacking at the tree root. Finally loosening it to where I could slip my foot out, I did and got up, taking off running again.
I couldn't hear anything, just the crackle of my feet crushing the leaves and my mind screaming at me to, "KEEP RUNNING!" I should've been paying attention more because as soon as I broke free of the woods, I ran straight into Wolf-Farrel, who tackled me to the ground. This time he didn't let me go.
The last thing I really do remember was Farrel's thoughts penetrating my mind and saying, "Don't go, I'll eat you up I love you so."
