A Most Unpleasant Journey

The massive window next to me
Keeps rattling incessantly
Like frightened kittens on a tree
Its shivers, shackled calls, a plea

A stream of light, in sight, then out
A hundred people zoom about
A roar of wind's insistent shout
Just passing by it's tracks, no doubt

I peek into the trolley cart
It's long voyage as mini mart
A muffin, creme brulee or tart?
My cash departs, my broken heart

So loud, this whistling windowpane
So rocky, this type of terrain
I can't sit still, my back's in pain
It really just drives one insane!

I spot a soft glow from afar
The gate ahead, just then ajar
Amidst the steel, concrete and tar
A single sign, my beacon star

Oh, Euston! Oh I must refrain
The clickty-clack slows down again
I shrug my shoulders from the strain
I sigh in joy and leave this train.
