Heavy and Light

Our hearts are heavy and light,

We will not be silenced; we will not give up the fight.

You shoot down our dreams, saying that we can’t make it,

But this is something we cannot hide, we can’t even fake it.

Truth is, we say we’re original, we say that we’re unique,

But we should really drop all the lies behind our whole mystique.

Your feelings, my feelings, and their feelings too,

Cannot possibly mean what we say is true.

Their wrists bloodied,

And their feelings mangled;

Their entire life left in shambles.

Heavy and light,

They do want to give up the fight.

A great mishap, that’s what they said.

Constricting and starving the dreams so that they couldn’t be fed.

Bruised and broken, they lay there.

Wanting their torment to end, but to end where?

In death?

Is it possible to not regret anything?

I’m sure that everyone does sooner or later.

The decisions we make, the reasons we fight,

They hold true in our hearts if only for a night.
