Dear mom,

I remember when I was a little girl, we were so close, I made you so many promises, I told you I would never be one of those teens. I worshipped the ground you walked on, I wanted to spend every second of my time being by your side.

And now…now I’m a teen, looking back on those promises I made to you, and a good portion of them broken. All the mistakes I’ve made, in my sixteen years of life, I feel like I have failed you. I’m pretty sure most teenage girls feel this way, if they ever take the time to look back.

Mom, I just wanted to say…I love you.
