WWI

Under earth, bodies lie

From times long past

With chaotic skies.

And in their graves the dead,

Are buried. Never again

Will the light shine,

Upon them. New Zealand is

From whence they came

To fight a battle on

Turkey’s lands.

When guns blaze, the skies

Alight, with bullets whistling

Through the air.

With dead long buried

And survivors,

Only memories of pain

Are there. Because

Under earth, bodies lie

From times long past

With chaotic skies.
