THE MOON

While other wait for the sun to rise

I wait until they close their eyes

So I can see between the trees

The thing that’s most important to me.

The moon with its illuminating light

Casts a godly glow at night

Trees sparkle and rivers shine

And everything looks so divine.

A special magic it must be

To cast the spell of sleep over me

To make me have dreams and frights

And make me want the morning light.

I can sit all night and watch

As the clock begins to tock

The moon whispering goodbye.

I wave to the brightest star in the sky.
