Provincetown

Rushing waters

A blue that matches my eyes

Slippery columns

Under the darkness

Shadows of the fever that claims the sky in evening

Gleams a coppery gold

On paint

And flowers.

An arrangement of wood

Draws the night to the garden

deepening lines

of black-auburn shades.

Summertime’s shadows

fall through the dusk

etching detail

into the vague.

When dawn strikes again,

mist of a weak light

creeps through the crystal glass

throwing rainbows on the floor

banishing leftover dark.

Brightness returns.

Clarity rules the world around me.

Walk through cobbles,

cracking,

crunching,

back to the blueness

of the shore.
