A Thousand Wishes

Frolicking along a path

I spot a weed

A puffball of white

Infinitely more beautiful than it’s grassy counterparts

With a childlike skip

I detach the dandelion

Cradling its tiny particles within my fingertips

Contemplating a wish

One wish designed in a multitude of dust-like parachutes

Inhale

Blow

A gust of wind devours the transparent orb

Sending the seed fragments in a whirlwind of frenzy

Twisting

Twirling

Flitting through the air

My one wish turns into a thousand wishes

Dancing in the wind

Searching for a place to land

A place to take root

Where a kind stranger can make a new wish

Continuing the chain

And filling the world with everlasting wishes
